The New York LEED Certification is a program to certify construction professionals who are up to date in procedure and practices of constructing green buildings in New York. The LEED professional must attend and qualify in the LEED Green Associate Exam.

The exam primarily consists of general knowledge on green building concepts and secondarily the LEED reference guides. The candidates have to then pass the LEED AP specialty exam wherein the candidates have to maintain a Credentialing Maintenance Exam with 30 hours of continuing education in primary LEED specialty, 6 hours in secondary specialty. The curriculum is the same as the basic program.
